I absolutely love skiing. Few years back I spent them chasing the winter around the world. As many you know, when is summer in the US, it is winter over the southern hemisphere. Happens to be that my home country Chile and specifically Portillo, is one of the most popular destinations on the off-seasons. Chile provides amazing mountains and the great snow quality. So without thinking it too much, I decided to become a double season ski instructor between Chile and the US.
Yeah, that’s me, I was pretty decent when I used to ski everyday. As a ski instructor, I always tried to help and accommodate my customers as much as I could. If I had a good customer, I would get their information and write it on a piece of paper. Later on, I would go home and add it to my Gmail account. At the end of the each season, I would thank them for skiing with me and invite them over for next year.
After years of teaching, I ended up with a listserve of over 200+ clients. It got to the point that it was really hard to manage. Even though I kept personalized correspondence with only a percentage of them. It was really hard to keep track of all of those client accounts. That is when I discovered MailChimp.
MailChimp, is an email management system that allows us to create, manage and monitor extensive lists of emails. It also allows us to create HTML emails that look slick and can differentiate you from competitors. This example is the email that we sent for our first meeting of the NVBC club at the University of Nevada, Reno.
One of the cool features that I really like, is that you can monitor and see what is the percentage of your email campaign has been open. It also tells you how many clicks to your links. Performance per day and the emails that bounced among others.
If an email bounced, you can easily erase it from your list making sure that the contacts that you have are current and working. Another feature that I really like is the countries where your email was opened from, and the people who opened the most. A really detailed monitored email system.
Finally MailChimp allows you to create a subscribe button, that can be added to your email to enrich your current listserve.
Have you used MailChimp to manage your client accounts? It is free!
